CRIME: BREAK & ENTER & SEXUAL ASSAULT DATE: 2007-06-19 RCMP FILE: 2007-31522 At approximately 10:20 p.m. on June 19th, a single white female in her 20’s was attacked by an unknown male intruder within her basement apartment on Christleton Avenue in Kelowna. The woman had arrived home from an outing shortly before the attack. She was doing some domestic chores when she was interrupted by a knock at her door. Believing it to be a friend of hers, she unlocked the deadbolt and was suddenly over powered by an unknown male. The male attempted to sexually assault her, but was interrupted by a neighbour. He fled the apartment, and is described as: mid 20’s, 5’9” to 5’11” tall, lean build, short dark hair, wearing a black shirt and baggy blue jeans. The police have noticed some similarities between this attack and another that occurred on Cactus Road on June 12th. The police are issuing a general reminder to all women that they be extra vigilant regarding their personal security and the security of their homes.
