Seminars and activities hosted by the Canadian Iaido Association, the governing body for Iaido in Canada, CIA.
KUBOTAN
HATSUNUKI
Hatsunuki is the term for the first draw of the year and is usually performed on January 1st at dawn. In Japan it is done at a Shinto shrine and each participant performs Ippon me mae to the sensei while being blessed by a shinto priest. We did it this year in the garden outside the dojo.
SPECIALTY COURSES
Exactly what it sounds like. Special courses held for specific applications or requested by specific companies and organizations. From basic theory to advanced law enforcement and everything else to teach you the skills to survive in the increasingly hostile and violent world of today.
WINTER WARRIOR
An annual seminar held between Christmas and new years. For the hardcore student who wants to train throughout the holidays, and keep their techniques sharp.
OCTOBERFIST
A seminar held in October of each year.
HATSUWAZA - KICKSTART
Hatsuwaza is the term for the first techniques of the year and is usually performed on January 1st at dawn. In Japan it is done at a Shinto shrine and each participant performs a select series of tecniques to the sensei while being blessed by a shinto priest. We chose this year to be kicks, 2007 kicks. A variety of kicks.
CRISIS INTERVENTION CLASS
A special course designed for applications where the use of force is of extreme concern, for example: special care facilities.
SELF DEFENSE for busy WOMEN
A monthly Self Defense Course held for women. Designed with the busy women in mind, who has no time to attend regular classes. All proceeds donated to charity.
SCHOOL SELF DEFENSE CLASS
School self defense courses are held by many schools in the local school districts and RONIN JIU-JITSU & KOBUDO is honored to have been teaching them for the past several years.
STUDENT APPRECIATION SEMINAR
A free seminar held each year which is set to honor and show respect to the students of RONIN JIU-JITSU and KOBUDO. If it were not for the students I would not be able to do what I love.
